COGNIFY is SRMC’s flagship social impact initiative, designed to address one of Pakistan’s most under-recognized and under-served challenges: autism inclusion.
Across the country, hundreds of thousands of children on the autism spectrum grow up without access to timely diagnosis, therapy, or inclusive learning environments, particularly in low-income and rural communities. Families are often left navigating stigma, limited information, and fragmented support systems.
COGNIFY exists to change that reality.
What COGNIFY Is:
COGNIFY is a scalable, community-based network of autism micro-centers that brings early intervention, therapeutic support, and family empowerment closer to where communities live. Built as a donor-supported yet sustainability-driven model, COGNIFY blends accessibility, affordability, and local capacity-building to deliver impact that lasts beyond short-term projects.
What Each COGNIFY Center Provides:
– Autism screening and developmental assessments
– Individualized therapy and development plans
– Parent, caregiver, and teacher training
– Community awareness and stigma-reduction programs
– Employment and skills development for local women caregivers and therapists
Why It Matters:
COGNIFY focuses not only on children, but on the systems that surround them. By strengthening families, schools, and community health structures, the initiative enables more inclusive environments while promoting gender equity, community ownership, and sustainable operations. The result is a model of social transformation that is practical, measurable, and deeply rooted in local realities.
How the Model Works:
Each COGNIFY micro-center integrates affordable therapy services, community outreach, and low-cost diagnostic interventions. Centers are designed to move toward financial self-sustainability within two years, ensuring continuity of care and long-term community impact.
2026 Launch Plan:
Pilot micro-centers are planned for:
– Lahore – Urban Inclusion Hub
– Sheikhupura – Rural Prototype
Planned expansion by the end of 2026 includes Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Karachi.
